Singer/Songwriter Blues Roots Compilation

Home Grown Roots showcases the best Aussie talent in the Blues and Roots Genre. If you’re after some fresh sounds then Home Grown Roots will surely satisfy your hunger for new Australian music.
The first volume will hit retail in July via MGM (home of John Butler) and will feature tracks by the renowned Hawksley Workman (International Guest Artist), Tecoma (recent recipient of the APRA Professional Development Awad), Luke Koteras (Matts award winner), Patrick Carr (lifting a track from his currently well received album 'You & Me'), Karl Broadie, and a host of emerging artists such as Jesse Morris, Shannon Reyn, Ester Toll, Van Sereno, Doug Sandrini, Tim Walker, Nick Everitt, Itu, Ben Marshall, Klia Zuka, Vanessa Hoffman, Leisl Karlsson, Joel Plaskett, and Back To Sea.
The compilation will work in much the same way as the Grow
Your Own series whereby artists from all over Australia can
submit demo's and the final tracks will be recorded at Damien
Gerard Sound Studios.
A series of showcase performances and a radio/media campaign
will support the release. The album will be released through
Foghorn's existing relationship with MGM on July 17.
Speaking about the new series Foghorn MD Marshall Cullen said "The GYO series has always been predominantly indie rock/alternative
and there seems to be a definite growth in the singer/songwriter
blues and roots area which we've seen in both the acts recording
at the studio and the demo that we've recieved.
The new series will highlight the emerging talent in this
genre."
