MICHAEL PETER

SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES

Michael’s first two EP’s from 2007 and earlier this year were well received with nation wide radio airplay including Triple J, and two number one spots for the song “Paper Planes” on the mp3.com.au Folk and Acoustic charts. He was also a feature artist on garageband.com and received rave reviews in street press and lots of attention online at www.myspace.com/michaelpetermusic

The first album is currently being mixed in the studio and this is the first taste of the singles –

My Favourite – the up tempo pop tune and the slightly more laid back but even more hooky – Heads up for Love.

ALEX CHUDNOVSKY

THE JOURNEY

Listening to the debut album by classical guitarist Alex Chudnovsky you cannot help being moved by his evocative, lyrical playing. But it is his compelling personal journey that led this Russian born musician all the way to Melbourne, Australia that informs the songs and leaves the listener with an insight to the extraordinary events that led to the making of this record.

“The Journey”, a collection of inspiring and moving pieces that will surely find a welcome home in many a record collection around the world.

STRANGE THINGS

DANIEL DAWES

As a founding member of Sydney based psych-rock outfit The Winters, their temporary hiatus cleared the way for Daniel to focus on a solo project.

The assembling of a band comprising likeminded members of various Sydney groups led to the recording of a new album “Strange Things”.

When attempting to describe the Dawes sound it is difficult to miss the influence of early Brit Pop. Richard Kingsmill (triple j) noted that Dawes’ music has “a real '60s English vibe about it. A little of Tim Rogers in the singer's style” .

FREYA HANLY

QUIVER

This year sees Freya Hanly releasing her second studio album Quiver,
carefully crafted over the last few years and her finest work to date. The
album truly is a reflection of the dedicated passion that has been put into
it and is an outstanding showcase of both the uplifting full-band feel of
songs like Evaporate and Cow For Sale, as well as Freya's gifted style of
composition in the more ambient, awe-inspiring track Don't Follow Me. Freya
has played over 500 shows, including a tour to Ireland in 2007, as well as
having been nominated twice for WAM song of the Year and the ASA Songwriter
of the Year.
